Figure 4 Inhibition of PEPCK prevents the anti-epileptic effect of glycolytic inhibitors. A) 3-MCP increases baseline bursting to 234 +/13% of base line. Addtion of 2-DG and lactate does not slow the rate of bursting but slightly increases it to 296+/- 17% of the baseline frequency (n=6). B) Iodacetate and lactate do not slow the rate of bursting in the presence of 3-MCP. 3-MCP alone increases the rate to 232 +/-44% of basline and it is increased to 344+/-76 in the presence of iodoaceatate and lactate (n=4).
